This Lewis Carroll figurine depicts the author of Alice in Wonderland sitting in a green armchair , a book in his hand and a pensive look in his eyes.

Our creation pays homage to Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, alias Lewis Carroll, author, photographer and mathematics teacher, whose universe has inspired generations of readers and artists.

Inspired by his Victorian photographic portraits , this piece transposes in miniature the posture of the English novelist and poet, as we know it through the photographs taken in the 19th century.

Sculpted in tin alloy , hand-painted with acrylics and protected by a glossy varnish , it testifies to the artisanal know-how of the Figurart workshop in Compiègne and makes it a unique collector's item , between art, literature and heritage.

  • The position of the chair evokes both the rest of the storyteller and the inner gaze of the creator .
It is reminiscent of the photographic portraits of Carroll taken in his Oxford studio, where he often placed his book in his hand, a symbol of reflection and imagination.

This figurine extends this legacy by giving form to the figure of the writer himself, like a bridge between the real world and Alice's dream.
