Marie Antoinette, Queen of France, in a pink ball gown

A Historical Miniature Inspired by the Great Days of Versailles

The design of this figurine is inspired by a portrait of Marie Antoinette painted by Vigée Le Brun and by historical research that accurately captures the opulence of 18th-century Baroque fashion. The ball gown, adorned with ribbons and delicate draping, evokes the ceremonial attire worn by the future queen during the rituals that punctuated life at court. Every detail, from the hairstyle to the ornaments, has been studied to offer a historically accurate miniature.

French Craftsmanship

Each figurine is the result of meticulous craftsmanship, carried out in our FIGURART workshop in Compiègne. The tin, a noble and durable alloy, is first poured into a precision mold. The piece is then carefully deburred by hand to remove any imperfections.
The painting process is entirely done by hand by our miniature artist, Helen Bourch. The application of professional acrylic paints guarantees the vibrancy and longevity of the colors. A glossy finishing varnish is applied to protect the piece from wear and tear, ensuring its transmission from generation to generation. The artist's signature, affixed to the base, certifies the authenticity of this handcrafted work.

  • Marie Antoinette (1755-1793), Archduchess of Austria who became Queen of France, embodies the height of Rococo splendor in the 18th century. Her arrival at Versailles in 1770 marked the beginning of a sumptuous court life, where she quickly became the arbiter of fashion and the central figure of royal entertainment.
Versailles, the palace of the absolute monarchy, was the stage for a court life governed by strict protocol. Marie Antoinette played a leading role: her sartorial choices influenced the French and European nobility. Her ball gowns, adorned with ribbons and sophisticated draping, became objects of fascination and imitation.

The Rococo Style: Elegance and Refinement

Rococo , the dominant artistic movement of the 18th century, is characterized by elegance, graceful curves, and delicate ornamentation. In fashion, it manifested itself in spectacular outfits in pastel colors—powder pink, sky blue, mint green—adorned with refined lace and embroidery.
The pink ball gown worn by our figurine is an iconic example. These ceremonial garments, worn at formal court events, reflected social status and symbolized the wealth of the French monarchy. Marie Antoinette, an undeniable icon of this era, helped define the canons of Rococo elegance.

    A Living Historical Heritage

Today, more than two centuries after her death, Marie Antoinette still fascinates. She remains at the heart of a rich historiographical tradition, her clothes and accessories being preserved in the greatest French museums, notably the Palace of Versailles.
For collectors, a collectible figurine of Marie Antoinette is much more than a decorative object: it's a tangible link to this heritage, a way to preserve and pass on the memory of this fascinating period in French history. Every detail—the elaborate hairstyle, the delicate ribbons, the folds of the dress—tells a story of craftsmanship and historical research.
